We are looking for experienced Registered nurses to come and work for us at Rowan Ward at The Royal Oldham Hospital.


Rowan is a 12 bedded inpatient facility that provides assessment and treatment for people over 65 years with functional & organic mental health problems.

Role Summary:


You will be responsible for the assessment of need, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for patients admitted to the inpatient ward.  You will supervise the work of junior staff, ensuring the highest possible standard of nursing care in accordance with the Policies and Procedures of Pennine Care Trust, the Mental Health Act and NMC Code of Conduct and practice guidelines.


Key Responsibilities of the Post:                                          


  • To act as named nurse.
  • To formulate assessments including risk assessments and produce plans of care to meet identified need.
  • To work as part of the MDT.
  • To act as shift co-ordinator
  • To supervise the work of junior staff.



Key Requirements of the Person Specification:


  • RMN or equivalent.
  • Registration with NMC.
  • Ability to complete mental health assessments including risk assessments.
  • Ability to co-ordinate the shift and prioritise.
  • Ability to work shifts, including night duty, weekends and Bank Holidays including Christmas.
